Privacy Policy — Quizin
Effective date: January 1, 2025
1. Introduction
Quizin ("we", "our", "us") provides a quiz and learning application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, where it is stored, and the choices you have. By using Quizin you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide, maintain, and improve the service. Broadly, that information includes:
- Account information (via Google Sign-In): When you sign in with Google we receive basic profile information (for example, your name, email address, and profile picture) as authorized through Google OAuth. We do not receive your Google password.
- User content: Quiz scores, progress, preferences, and any content you create or upload while using Quizin.
- Usage data: Analytics, crash logs, and performance data to help us understand how the app is used and to fix bugs.
- Device & technical data: Device model, operating system version, IP address, and other diagnostics necessary for the service.
3. How We Use Information
- To create and manage your account and provide the Quizin service.
- To store your quiz data, progress, and preferences.
- To communicate with you about account activity, updates, or support requests.
- To analyze and improve the app (analytics and performance monitoring).
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
4. Third-Party Services & Storage
Quizin uses third-party services to provide and host features:
- Google Sign-In (OAuth) — we rely on Google's authentication to let you sign in quickly and securely. The profile fields we request are limited to what is necessary for account creation and basic identification.
- Supabase — we use Supabase as our backend/data storage provider (database, authentication and file storage). Your data (profile information, quiz results, and app data) is stored in our Supabase project. Please review Supabase's privacy and security documentation for details about their practices.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We may use cookies and local storage to store session information, preferences, and small amounts of data to improve your experience. You can clear or block cookies using your browser or device settings; however, some features may stop working properly if cookies are disabled.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account exists and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you request account deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain certain data by law.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights related to your personal data, including the right to access, correct, export, restrict processing of, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information in our care, including using encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls for our Supabase project. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure — please take care when sharing sensitive information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of the policy. Significant changes will be notified via the app or email when required.
